More than 76,400 local homes and businesses to be connected to Labor's NBN.
Member for Melbourne Ports, Michael Danby MP, today welcomed the announcement by the Australian Government that work will commence to connect an additional 6,000 homes and businesses in Melbourne Ports to the NBN by 30 June 2016.

Michael Danby, federal Labor Member for Melbourne Ports, has announced that extra voting times will be available in the electorate for the period before the 14 September federal election, which falls on Yom Kippur, a Jewish religious holiday.

Michael Danby has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland by the Polish Minister for Foreign Affairs, The Honourable Mr Radoslaw Sikorski, at the Polish consulate in Sydney today.
A crowd of several hundred witnessed the proceedings, led by Mr Sikorski. The Order is awarded by the President of Poland to foreigners or Poles resident abroad, for distinguished contribution to international co-operation, or to co-operation between Poland and other countries.

Arts Minister Tony Burke and Parliamentary Secretary for the Arts Michael Danby have welcomed the return of ancestral remains to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities from the Charité Medical University in Berlin, Germany.
The ancestral remains will be handed over to a delegation of six community representatives at a ceremony attended by Mr Danby in Berlin on Friday. The representatives will accompany their ancestors home to Australia.
