Michael Danby presents Australian Flag from Australian Parliament House to Galilee Primary

Michael Danby MP, Federal Member for Melbourne Ports today presented Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School in South Melbourne with an Australian Flag and certificates to its year 6 students who visited Parliament House earlier this year.The Australian Flag that Mr Danby presented had been flown over Parliament House on the 1st of March this year. The presentation took place at a special assembly for the whole school.
Over $4 million to make Australian Preschools safer

Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Justice Jason Clare today announced that 21 pre-schools across Australia will receive safety upgrades under the third round of the Secure Schools Program.
Mr Clare made the announcement at Mount Scopus Memorial College Preschool in St Kilda with local member Michael Danby and representatives of Victoria’s Jewish schools community.
“This funding will make preschools safer, providing peace of mind for staff and parents,” Mr Clare said.

Last night at a star studded fundraiser, Paul Howe’s, Secretary of the Australian Workers Union, praised Michael Danby, the Federal Member for Melbourne Ports for his strident support of the Jewish Community and for speaking, acting and working for those who lack the power, the voice and the ability to represent themselves. The fundraiser included a performance by Klezmania and a 20 minute stand up comedy set from Sandy Gutman, aka AustenTayshus.
Danby criticises ABC for Middle East coverage

On Tuesday night, Michael Danby took the ABC to task in a grievance speech to the Federation Chamber for their biased coverage of Middle East Issues.
Mr Danby had written twice to the ABC complaining about two separate reports, one on an Australian man jailed in Israel for assisting Hamas and the second on a Four Corners Program in which Robert Fisk was invited on as an and made his usual crass, ill-informed attacks on Israel falsely claiming (without host Kerry O’Brien demurring) that Israel supported the massacres in Syria.

The Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Greg Combet, and Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Mark Dreyfus, yesterday announced over $42 million in grants to improve energy efficiency in community buildings and facilities.
Improving energy efficiency is a central element of the Federal Government’s Clean Energy Future plan, to help boost productivity in our economy and move Australia towards a low-carbon future.
